The basics
What does Advocate actually do?
We watch AI tools ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot and tell you whenever they mention your business. Then we track what happens after: did someone click through to your site? Did they book? It's like Google Analytics, but for the AI-first internet.
How do you know what AI is saying?
We run the questions your customers are likely to ask across every major AI tool, on a schedule. When your business shows up in an answer, we log it. We also track bot traffic to your website, so we know when an AI tool is doing research on you.
Is any of this creepy or against ToS?
No. We use the same public AI interfaces anyone can use we're just doing it systematically and keeping records. We never pretend to be real users or automate on your behalf. Our logs come from your site's own analytics (bot traffic) and from our own AI queries.
Understanding your numbers
What's the difference between "mentions" and "click-throughs"?
Mentions = how many times an AI named your business in an answer. Click-throughs = how many of those mentions actually drove someone to your website. Both matter, but click-throughs are closer to dollars.
How is "Earned" calculated?
We tag every click that comes from an AI answer. If that visitor then books, orders, or calls you within 30 days, we attribute that revenue to AI. You set up the attribution once during onboarding, and then it runs automatically.
What's the "Win rate" on Competitor Radar?
For each tracked query (like "best florist in Austin"), we check which businesses AI names. Win rate = how often you're in that list vs. how often a competitor is. A win rate of 64% means AI named you in 64 out of 100 answers to your tracked queries.
Making Advocate work harder for you
What should I do if my win rate drops?
Start with the "Tip to pull further ahead" on the Competitor Radar page we surface the most common keyword or service you're missing. Usually it's something simple like adding "wedding florist" or "same-day delivery" to your Business profile.
How often is my data updated?
Mentions and bot traffic are near real-time (within 2–5 minutes). The Competitor Radar runs once a day at 6am CT. Revenue attribution updates every 15 minutes once a booking completes.
Can I track more than one business or location?
Yes. Click the business name in the top-left of the sidebar to switch between locations. Each location is billed separately the Base plan covers one; Pro covers up to three.
Billing & account
What's the difference between Base and Pro?
Base ($149/mo) covers up to 20 tracked queries, 5 competitors, and 3 team seats. Pro ($349/mo) unlocks unlimited queries, 25 competitors, unlimited team, and the full Competitor Radar suite. Most multi-location businesses need Pro.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes no contracts, no cancellation fees. Cancel from the Billing page and you keep access until the end of your current billing cycle. We'll keep your data on file for 90 days in case you come back.
Do you offer refunds?
If you cancel within the first 14 days of a new plan, we'll refund that month in full, no questions asked. After that, we don't pro-rate partial months.
